History of Srila Prabhupada

Born on September 1, 1896, in Calcutta, India, Srila Prabhupada displayed early devotion to Lord Krishna. He mastered Sanskrit and studied the Vedic scriptures deeply.

In 1965, at age 69, he traveled to the United States to fulfill his mission of spreading Krishna consciousness worldwide. In 1966, he founded ISKCON in New York City and inspired thousands of devotees globally, establishing temples, schools, and farm communities, including ISKCON Jalandhar.

Srila Prabhupada’s teachings emphasize devotion, humility, and service. His writings and lectures continue to guide millions toward a life of spiritual discipline and joy.
